About this service
Abacadabra (abacadabra.xyz) is a personal project operated by Eric Dong for recording private research ideas and notes. For privacy questions or account requests, contact dongshaolicheng@gmail.com.
Information we use
Email registration uses your email address, password and optional display name. Supabase handles authentication and password protection. Google sign-in provides your account identifier, email address, name and profile picture to identify your account and display your profile. We do not request access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files or contacts. We store notes you choose to save, their owner identifier and creation time.
How information is used
We use account information to sign you in, keep notes associated with your account, show your profile, and send account confirmation or password-reset emails. Notes are private within the application and are not published to other users. This version does not send notes to AI services. We do not sell personal information or use Google user data for advertising or AI model training.
Service providers and browser storage
Netlify hosts the website; Supabase provides authentication and database storage; Resend delivers account emails; Google provides optional sign-in, profile images and web fonts. These providers process data needed for their services, which can include IP addresses, browser details and operational logs. Data may be processed outside your country. The browser stores your language preference and login session. Guest drafts are not saved by the application; signing in does not automatically save a draft.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Saved notes remain until you delete them or your account is deleted. You can view, download and delete individual notes while signed in. To request account deletion, correction or a copy of your account data, email dongshaolicheng@gmail.com from your registered address; identity verification may be needed. Account deletion is handled manually. Deleted information may remain temporarily in provider backups or security logs according to their retention practices. You can revoke Google access in your Google Account settings; revoking access alone does not delete your Abacadabra account or notes.
Security and updates
We use HTTPS and account-based access controls. Notes are not end-to-end encrypted, and authorized administrators and service providers may access data when necessary to operate or support the service. No service can guarantee absolute security. Changes to these practices will be reflected on this page with an updated date; material changes will be explained before new uses of your data.
